Backyard Flowers

This is the last post of my catching up with the old blog. I took these pictures last week I think in the backyard. I like how some of them turned out, but if you have any suggestions about how to make them better, please leave a comment. :-)

Iris (some bearded variety)

This one I put into black and white for fun.

I turned down the saturation on this one.

One of my favorites from the bunch

I think the next lens I'll get will be a macro lens, so I can get even closer. It might be a while though...

More camping pictures

Here are some more pictures.

This was a neat red one, but I'm unsure of its name.

This little guy was on the trail at the park, so I took some pictures.
Western Painted Turtle
And finally a Wild Geranium.
Geranium maculatum
Here's the website I've been using to identify the flowers: http://www.minnesotawildflowers.info/

First Post

This is actually my second blog of the same name, I was having some troubles with the picture sizes on the first one and decided to start over. The first few posts here are the same as what was on the other one.

Well I decided to make a blog thing to put some of my pictures up on. I guess I'll start with some pictures I took camping.

This one is  Red Columbine, (Aquilegia canadensis if you're into the Latin names).
Not sure what these are, but they were pretty small.

This one's a Nodding Trillium, but it's not nodding as it was broken (just out of the frame), Trillium cernuum.

This is a shooting star, not sure of the exact flavor. These were on the side of the Shooting Star Trail.

If you have any suggestions for taking pictures, making a blog, or something else, please share them. :-)
