The first one here is one of the big dragonflies I've been trying to get, but they like to keep their distance. I don't really like this one, I prefer to get them when they're on a plant. I took the color out from around the dragonfly because otherwise it blended in a bit too much.
This is a peony that hasn't opened up yet. I'll be sure to get more pictures as it starts to open.

Hey Zak, thanks for visiting my blog! For one reason, I've found you! Your photos are quite interesting, I love the bug ones. Although I think they could use a little more "composition/planning" it's probably difficult to do, as bugs don't wait (they are very neat regardless).
ReplyDeleteJust curious, and you don't need specify exactly, but where are you located (Minnesota, for example)?
As for suggestions, maybe you could try to get two bugs together, or try getting "cropped" shots of the bugs; to do so, try getting a little more "abstract" with the wings, more wings, less bug (wing designs are very interesting).
Another suggestion, as I see you like wildlife, is to get lower and try to get some wildlife from below (like viewing a flower, bug, or grass from a bugs' perspective).
How long have you been taking pictures? I read through your "about me page" and I didn't see it, but was curious (again).
